Monthly Report of the Committee on Committees for January 2023

I. January 18, 2023 Committee on Committees Technology Subcommittee Meeting

Danny Sexton, Chair of the C on C; Julian stark, secretary of the C on C; Christine Mooney, member and previous chair of the C on C; Stephen Dahlke, Chair of the Academic Senate; Rajesh Vaswani, Manager of Strategic Technology Implementation and Integration; and Sangeeta Noel, Interim Human Resources Executive Director met via Zoom to discuss technology needs for the Committee on Committees

a. Issues with the current C on C database was noted such as it being cumbersome, it not being consistently updated, and its inability to update automatically to the QCC website.

b. During the fall 2022 semester, there were conversations about purchasing a new database but due to cost of the ones that would work best for the C on C needs, the college is not in the position to purchase a new one.

c. During her tenure as chair of the C on C, Christine Mooney spent hours updating the database, but other issues noted in item a above still exists with it.

d. Rajesh noted that current systems that the college uses, such as Qualtrics software and Big Pulse could be used to do the work of the C on C, and we could sunset the database. It was decided that beginning with the Spring 2023 semester, the C on C will no longer use the outdated C on C database and work with Qualtrics and Big Pulse.

e. The subcommittee also discussed a rough timeline for when certain tasks for the spring 2023 needed to be completed.
