Monthly Report of the Committee on Committees for February 2023

I. Preparation for Populating the Standing Committees

a. Throughout the month of February via a series of emails, Danny Sexton, Chair of the C on C; Julian stark, secretary of the C on C; Christine Mooney, member and previous chair of the C on C; and Stephen Dahlke, Chair of the Academic Senate along with the assistance of Stephen Di Dio, Vice President and Chief Communication and Marketing Officer worked on methods for notifying faculty members about serving on a standing committee.

b. An email about serving on committees were sent to faculty on February 22. The emails only went to faculty members who were not currently serving on a standing committee; it did not go out to members who were currently serving or whose terms were expiring. The deadline for faculty to respond to the email about serving was March 8, 2023 by 5pm.

c. On March 13, Rajesh Vaswani, Manager of Strategic Technology Implementation and Integration, emailed to Chairperson Danny Sexton, Secretary Julian Stark, Former Chairperson and C on C member Christine Mooney, and Academic Senate President Stephen Dahlke the Qualtrics Spreadsheet with faculty’s selections for committee service. Christine Mooney reformatted the report to make Chairperson Sexton’s job of using it to make assignments easier.

II. Upcoming Business

  1. Chair Danny Sexton would work on making initial assignments to standing committees in preparation for a March full meeting of the C on C to approve his suggestions/recommendations.
