- Queensborough is part of the CUNY Men Teach Initiative
CUNY’s Men Teach Initiative is a program to recruit male students from minority groups into Teacher Education programs to prepare them for teaching careers in public schools in NYC. Participants will receive academic and career advisement, financial support and assistance with teacher certification exams. The goal is to ensure that students are retained, graduate, get certified and become outstanding NYC teachers.
QCC’s Dual-Joint AA/BA Degree Program in Childhood Education with Queens College is designed to prepare our students to complete their Associates Degree and transition smoothly to Queens College to complete their Baccalaureate Degree.
Whichever age group or whatever subject you imagine teaching, the different educational programs at Queensborough Community College will give you the knowledge and the skills, the experience and the expertise that promise you a great future as a member of the teaching profession.

Early Childhood and Elementary Education
If your interest is Elementary Education, there are two degree programs available to you.
Option I: A unique program designed specifically for students who plan to transfer to the Elementary Education program (Grades 1-6) at Queens College upon completion of their Associate Degree at Queensborough. It is a highly structured Dual Joint A.A./B.A. degree program successful completion of the two year curriculum guarantees students entry into the third year at Queens College.

Option II: Students can enroll in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (A.A.) Transfer Program. Queensborough has articulation agreements with several area colleges so that upon completing the A.A. degree at Queensborough, you can transfer into the junior year in their Early Childhood and Elementary Education programs.

Middle School and/or High School Education
What will you teach? Name your subject: Art, English, History, Music, Physical Education or Social Studies. The Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree at Queensborough Community College prepares students to transfer easily to teacher education programs at several CUNY and area independent colleges. Our transfer articulation agreements insure that the courses taken here are accepted into the bachelor degree program you select. In this program, you will continue your education studies and also concentrate on the subject you wish to teach.
