As a Queensborough student you will focus your education in one of our eight Queensborough Academies.
According to the Academy of Social Sciences, the social sciences are the "study of people: as individuals, communities and societies; their behaviors and interactions with each other and with their built, technological and natural environments." The social sciences include anthropology, economics, geography, political science, psychology, social work, sociology, and related fields. (Education and Criminal Justice are included in their own academies.)
QCC students may choose between A.A. and A.S. degree programs which are designed to prepare you for transfer to a four-year college or university or an A.A.S. degree which are designed to prepare you for immediate entry into the workforce. A.A. and A.S. degree graduates will be able to complete a bachelor’s degree in the same field in an additional two years after transfer. A.A.S. degree graduates may also transfer but may require three years of additional study at the 4-year institution to complete the bachelor’s degree.
Degree maps are available for each degree program on its page below. The maps, which were developed by your faculty members, recommend which courses should be taken each semester to complete the degree program in two years. Your adviser can also help you select courses each semester. We recommend that you meet with your advisor every semester.
