Dr. Sandra Palmer was appointed Dean of Faculty in August 2015. In addition to her role as Dean of Faculty, Dr. Palmer has served as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and currently Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Palmer’s accomplishments as Dean of Faculty include identifying and pursuing college-wide grant opportunities for faculty and developing new strategies to improve student success, particularly as it relates to college readiness. Prior to joining Queensborough, Dr. Palmer spent 24 years working with faculty and academic initiatives as a faculty member and department chairperson and in academic affairs leadership roles at Suffolk County Community College (SUNY), and Naugatuck Valley Community College and Manchester Community College (CT) where she was Chief Academic Officer and Provost. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis (Art History), and a Master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago (Art History). She also earned an M.B.A. in Management from Adelphi University.
