Petition for a Writing Intensive (WI) Waiver

Guidelines

Students are required to complete two WI courses to earn an associate degree at Queensborough Community College.

If you believe that you do not have to complete one or both of the WI requirements because of transfer credit of WI or courses taken at the college that should have been designated WI, you may petition for a waiver.

To file a petition, please fill the form below and attach a transcript, course syllabus, and any other documentation you think will support your case.

To submit your petition, email Arthur Corradetti, Dean for Institutional Effectiveness, Academic Affairs, at [email protected] or send materials to Academic Affairs, A-503.

Dean Corradetti will forward your case to the WID/WAC Committee for review. It is the committee that will render a decision about the petition. As the committee meets only twice a semester, it may be in your best interest to register for a WI class in the meantime.
