Dr Meg Tarafdar is the Interim Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) since Jan 2020. She is a faculty member in the English Department and the Coordinator of Global and Diversity Learning as a high impact educational practice. She has taught English Composition, Contemporary Literature in English, and World Literature courses in Oklahoma, Texas, and New York. Her research interests include World Literature in Translation, Immigrant Literature, Intercultural Communication, and Online Pedagogy. As a web author, she has created online instructional resources and student tutorials for textbooks. In her previous position as the Associate Director (2006-2015) of CETL at Queensborough, Dr. Tarafdar focused on designing, developing, and delivering pedagogy-practice professional development programs to engage and support faculty from across the disciplines in their efforts to promote student learning outcomes. She coordinated a wide range of workshops on innovative pedagogies and the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL). As a Fulbright Scholar (2006-7), she was invited to teach in several institutions in India where she facilitated the teaching of contextual writing skills for diverse, multi-lingual learners.
