Computer-Based Training
Both the Principal Investigator, the Co-PI(s) and any other clerical or research assistants who will be collecting, organizing or managing data, or who are working on the research project in some other capacity, must complete CUNY’s computer-based training module, known as the Citi program. The Citi program takes several hours to complete; however, applicants may save the program and come back to it at any time, or print out each module. The training can be accessed via the link below.
Certificates of completion for all participating personnel must be included in the IRB application. Specifically, if a Principal Investigator knows in advance who will be participating in the study, those persons must submit certificates of completion as part of the IRB application. However, if the personnel in question have yet to be determined, then the PI must indicate this in his/her proposal, and key personnel must submit their certificates of completion directly after they are hired to work on the project. Protocols that do not include the certificates cannot be accepted for review by the IRB, as the proposal cannot be considered complete.
