Research Committee
Purpose and Function
The QCC Research Committee shall consult with and advise the Dean of Faculty, the Faculty Fellow for Research, and other administrators, as appropriate on the research and scholarly activities on campus.
Role & Responsibilities of the QCC Research Committee

To disseminate information on issues that impact research, creative works, and scholarly activities, as well as professional development opportunities

To contribute ideas to expand and improve department research and creative works

To advise on the QCC’s strategies for supporting undergraduate research

To communicate needs or problems related to research and creative works

To make recommendations to enhance the research environment and administration policies and procedures

To promote collaborative and interdisciplinary research

Method of Appointment
The QCC research Committee is composed of representatives from each of the 16 academic departments, research related personnel and the Faculty Fellow for Research. The Research Committee Chair shall recommend one faculty representative from each department with the approval of the Department Chair.
The Chair shall be appointed by election and from the Research Committee members.
If a member does not attend three consecutive meetings without reasonable causes, the Research Committee Chair may consult with the Department Chair to terminate his/her membership. The Chair should recommend one faculty representative from the department with the approval of the Department Chair.
Term of Service
Each member shall serve for a term of two years.
Quorum
A quorum consists of a majority of members.
Schedule of meetings:
The Research Committee meets once a month.
