Guidelines for Posting Print Material on Campus
The College has designated cork bulletin boards throughout the campus for the purpose of posting print materials. Glass-enclosed bulletin boards are used by the College for the purpose of posting information related to compliance. (See Appendix A, Location of College Bulletins Boards Designated for Posting Print Material.)
For the purpose of these guidelines, the College defines "print material", including but not limited to posters and flyers, as any form of print publicity or communications without regard to content. It does not include print materials which the College is required to post for compliance purposes. It also does not include instructional print materials distributed by faculty, or materials posted by faculty in the classroom during scheduled class meeting periods.

General Requirements For All Postings

The President's Designee(s) must review all Queensborough Community College print materials to ensure they comply with the guidelines described herein prior to posting. Print material may be submitted for review via an online form, as well as in person to the office of the Vice President for Student Affairs office. Reviewed material will be stamped and dated. All posted print materials must have this reviewed stamp.

Print material which has been reviewed for posting may be posted on designated cork bulletin boards. No print materials shall be affixed to any other surface (interior or exterior), including but not limited to: buildings, doors, windows, interior walls, trash receptacles, pillars, light poles, trees, building signs, fences, and other areas of a building, whether inside or outside, any other area of the campus, or any object on the campus.

Print materials shall not promote activities or conduct that violates local, state or federal law.

Print materials may not display copyrighted or trademarked works without the express authorization of the copyright-holder. Copyrighted and trademarked works may include, but are not limited to: logos, digital images, photographs, paintings, movies, videos, and written works. The use of the CUNY logo (and its affiliated institutions) must comply with brand guidelines.

Print materials for events, programs or services that are open to the general public shall include the following ADA accommodations Statement: "Persons with disabilities seeking assistance in arranging reasonable accommodations should contact the College's 504/ADA Coordinator in the Office of Affirmative Action, Pluralism and Diversity at (718) 631-6391 in advance of the event."

The preferred maximum size of print materials is 8.5" by 11."

Each piece of print material is limited to one per designated cork bulletin board.

Print material should not cover or obstruct other notices.

The sponsor (or individual poster) shall be responsible for the prompt removal and proper disposal of all print materials upon the conclusion of the event, program or service. To ensure adequate posting space for all, print materials must be removed no later than four (4) days after the conclusion of the event, program or service. Materials that are informational and are not related to a specific date may be posted for no longer than one week. Requests to re-post materials that have exceeded their posting period may be submitted online or to the office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Posting is subject to space availability.

Internal Groups
Within the context of these guidelines, internal groups are defined as registered student organizations, campus governance units, academic units, and campus departments/offices, individual members of the campus community and College committees. Internal groups may place print materials on designated bulletin boards in accordance with the following requirements:

All print material that presents information about College-sponsored events, programs, or other official College business must adhere to Queensborough Community College and The City University of New York branding guidelines and standards. "Queensborough Community College" must be included on the print material and must be written in its entirety. Abbreviations - i.e. "QCC" or "Queensborough" -- may not be used.

Print material must indicate the name of the department, office, organization or individual sponsoring the activity; and/or the individual posting the material.

External Groups
Within the context of these guidelines, external groups are defined as those groups or individuals which are not registered student organizations, campus governance units, academic units, departments/offices or committees; or employees or students enrolled at the College.
External groups and individuals must obtain the (stamped) review of the Vice President for Student Affairs or his/her designee prior to posting and is subject to the General Requirements applicable to all posters of print material outlined above.
