Dr. Amy Traver is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Queensborough Community College (QCC), CUNY. Her research interests include community college pedagogies and race, ethnicity, gender, and religion in American adoptive families. Traver loves to conduct research with students and with her colleagues across the disciplines. She has worked towards publication or presentation with students on projects related to gender and disabilities, genocide education, maternal norms and expectations, and New York City infrastructure. She appreciates and works in tandem with the efforts of QCC’s Kupferberg Holocaust Center to engage students, and she welcomes students’ queries about potential sociological research opportunities.
